Extraction Site Preservation

When you have an extraction or are planning one, it’s important to make a plan for what to do after. Once a tooth is removed, the jawbone begins to diminish and the teeth start to shift which can make replacing the tooth difficult if ignored. For example, dental implants require adequate bone material for the placement of the posts. Without adequate bone material, the placement of the implant may not be possible or a bone graft may be necessary. If you are considering a dental bridge, the impression would need to be taken before the teeth shift.
We are happy to discuss with you your options after an extraction on how you can best preserve the health of your mouth.
