Crowns

Sometimes teeth can be too worn down, cracked or decayed for a simple filling to be sufficient. Crowns are tooth coverings that may be necessary to save your tooth and make it strong again and more resilient to further damage.

Crowns can be made of all porcelain, porcelain fused to metal, or full gold. For the most natural-looking results, we recommend a solid porcelain crown. It will blend in flawlessly with the rest of your smile and look just like one of your natural teeth.

The process of getting a crown takes two office visits. During your first visit, we will reshape your existing tooth so it can fit your restoration perfectly. We will give you a local anesthetic during this procedure to ensure your comfort. An impression or digital picture is then taken of the tooth and the teeth surrounding it. This image will be sent to a dental lab where they will create your custom crown to fit your mouth perfectly. You will be fit with a temporary crown while you wait for your permanent restoration. On your second visit, we will place and cement your permanent crown!

Your smile will look and feel beautiful with your new crown. Caring for your crown is just like caring for the rest of your natural teeth, with regular brushing and flossing and dental checkups.
